IN TIME is a science fiction thriller. The year is 2161. Will Salas (Justin Timberlake) is a 28 year old factory worker who lives with his 50 year old mother (Olivia Wilde) in the ghettos, thought neither of them look older than 25. Genetic alteration has allowed humanity to develop a system where individuals stop aging 25 years after birth. Time has replaced money as the standard currency and people must work to acquire more time. Will visit a bar and encounter 105 year old Henry Hamilton (Matt Bomer), who has more than a century on his clock. After saving his life from a gang called the “Minutemen,” Hamilton transfers his time to Will, killing himself in the processes. Will plans to use his new time to take his mother on a trip for her birthday. When his mother unexpectedly runs out of time herself, Will vows to make the time holding elite pay.
Matt plays Moser, though his name is never actually said. He seems to be some sort of traveler, carrying only one small suitcase. Moser tries to check into a hotel where all the rooms were bought out by Will and Sylvia Weis (Amanda Seyfried). In the next scene, Moser has been caught with a group of men by the “Minutemen.” Without giving anything away, Matt’s character helps to move a section of the plot along. The scene is only about a minute long, in the last third of the film. It is chapter 22 on the DVD.
